FLAMINGO BANDING
Every year, hundreds of naturalists and volunteers from all over Spain and Europe meet in the Fuente de Piedra lagoon (Málaga) to capture, band and release about a thousand common flamenco chickens. Its goal is knowing its dispersion when they leave the lagoon, their customs and survival ability. This activity has been carried out since 1986 and is a spectacular and hopeful event for the conservation of this beautiful species and the Mediterranean wetlands.
