The Mediterranean forest is our great jungle. Holm oaks, cork oaks, gall oaks, wild olive trees, carob trees, strawberry trees … cover shady and sunny, sheltered valleys or smooth hillocks, creating a rich vegetable mosaic where a complex faunal community unique in the world is born and died. The forest and Mediterranean scrub, despite the aggressions that have suffered for man over millennia, still give shelter to imperial eagles and black vultures, to lynxes and black storks, to amphibians and reptiles, fish and invertebrates among thousands of species hunters and prey.
